FIN24 notes that this is according to a study conducted by Datamonitor for Britain's BT Group, which found that 800 senior executives in the US, UK, France and Germany found 88% could not name the currency of Brazil, 55% did not know the name of India's currency and 65% did not know what unit was used in SA. However, while the real, the rupee and the rand scored low on the recognition scale, 61% said it was crucial their business was able to work with the so-called BRICS economies. The study covered companies with turnover from $10m to more than $1bn.
